In Ontario, in any case of adding, modification or installation of new or existing structure, apparatus,
construction or protective element, a Pre-Start Health and
Safety Review (Known also as PSR, PHSR or PSHSR) is required by the
Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Such a review is preferably done by a Professional Engineer and
its purpose is to ensure compliance with the
applicable provisions of the Regulation for Industrial Establishments.
BEN Engineering offers a Pre-Start Health
and Safety Reviews by Licensed P.Eng., which details and explain and
non-compliance to codes and standards. The service includes:
- reviewing the compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Identifying and reporting hazard issues.
A Pre-Start Health and Safety Review report,
references to numerous codes, standards and acts required by the
Ministry of Labour. Many of those documents are updated and
changed occasionally. Reviewing the facility by an external, third
party Professional Engineer, who familiar with the different
acts, regulations, codes and standards, addresses not only the law
requirements, but also reduces the probability of potential
accidents and may lowers the insurance presume as well.
