Building Science
|

The our Building Science service is
conducted by a licensed Structural Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
who specializes in this type of work. We help building owners and
management companies solving of various problems that might
effect buildings condition in a short or long term.
Typical Building
Science service includes for example the following items:

Structural deficiency inspection
allows the building owners and the property management companies
solving current structural problems, developing a long term maintenance programs,
and estimating
budget fund reserve required to implement future
repairs and major building maintenance programs. We will
issue a comprehensive report that highlights and identifies repairs or rehabilitation
needed in order to keep the building in good
structural condition.
Our service is
provided for any building size or usage including residential,
commercial, industrial, or public.

Roof and waterproofing
comprehensive inspection, including investigation of the current
condition of the roof assembly, issue a
professional comprehensive report that documents and lists the
findings, recommendations, and cost estimates for repair or
replacement. |

Infrared imaging (optional)
inspection and thermal mapping using state-of-the-art
thermograph equipment of the structure of specific elements for
identification of hidden defects and the root of the problems
in order to achieve more accurate solutions with lower repair
costs. |

Exterior walls
inspection, including identifying problems as moisture and water
penetration, inadequate heat insulation, noise insulation,
safety and stability of brick veneer or the cladding.

Exterior windows
inspection, including heat loss, noise insulation, air
tightness, security, durability and strength. |

Underground parking
inspection and other areas in the building, which are below
ground level. The service is divided into several phases, which
include a comprehensive condition survey of the exposed
elements and components, an evaluation of the required repairs or
rehabilitation, development and design of the repair method including
specifications, project management and final inspection with
reporting. |

Noise and acoustics problems that
interfere residential or office buildings occupants, such as
noise transfer between suites or between mechanical room and
suites. We will perform a comprehensive investigation to
locate the noise source, the building deficiencies that
enable the noise transfer and suggest remedies and solutions
to mitigate the problem. |
